Road Trip Day 1

I work. Granted, it’s from home, but I put in an honest, solid 9 hours a day. My husband, however, is retired. Retired from the 9-5, but not from life and fun! So when I have days off from work (this time my Friday off and the upcoming Monday holiday), we can finally DO STUFF! So this time we hopped in our pickup and hit the road. Drove about 5 hours through the desert and ended up in Parker AZ. The desert is so beautiful this time of year…. I can totally understand why so many from the mid-west snowbird here! We took almost exclusively 2 lane roads because, why not! We drive freeways all the time. So while we were enjoying the scenery, snacking on stuff we wouldn't normally be, we put on some music and just enjoyed being out on the open road. We even stopped to look at shoes. Not in a mall, but hanging in the middle of nowhere from an abandoned gas station. Fun stuff! Stuff you don’t see every day…. Now it’s time to settle in. Had a good dinner and lost $20 at the casino. Looking forward to sleep and no alarm in the morning!
